Chronic migraine is typically characterized by frequent headache days over several months and may include symptoms such as light sensitivity or nausea. Neuromodulator treatment for chronic migraine is a prescription option that is provided under clinician oversight in a clinical setting.   • Neuromodulators are prescription treatments that act on nerve signaling in the body. In a clinical setting, they may be used as part of a treatment plan for individuals living with chronic migraine, under the care and guidance of a licensed practitioner. Public information about prescription drugs is limited to treatment names, dosage, and procedural details, as required by Health Canada.

Results:

It takes 2 weeks to reach peak effect and results typically last 12 weeks. It is recommended to repeat treatments every 12 weeks.

 

 

Downtime:

No social downtime (pinpoint redness and swelling to injection sites for a few hours).

 

Cost:

Neuromodulators for Chronic Migraine are generally covered by insurance, but may be subject to a copay, depending on your coverage. No additional injection fee.
